The Band

Guy Jackson, bassist, brings over 35 years of musical experience to the band. Originally from Bedford, IN, Guy has performed in various bands including jazz, classical and concert as well as Bluegrass with the White River Express in the Early Eighties and most recently Highway 41 and The Clabber Boys. Guy currently resides in Evansville, IN.

Mark Crowder, mandolin, has been around the Bluegrass scene in Southern Indiana for many years. Mark has played with a variety of bluegrass bands including Highway 41, Sassafras, and others. His Sam Bush style mandolin adds an aggressive element to the band which adds a hard driving quality. Mark currently resides in Evansville, IN. |

Jimmy Woolsey, Lead Guitar and Male Vocals, is the driving force behind the Fields of Home sound, and he is the primary composer of the original songs that the band performs. His songs have been recorded by professional artists such as The Chapmans and Northern Lights. Jimmy has been a member of various bands including the Patoka Valley Boys and Bluewater Backsplash Grass. He has performed at various Bluegrass competitions and has taken first place in categories such as Old Time Male Singer, Mandolin and Guitar at competitions in Indiana and Kentucky.

Lynna Woolsey, Guitar and Vocals brings the unique touch of harmony and Lead Female vocals that makes the Fields of Home sound. Lynna has placed in competitions for her singing over the years, including 1st place in Old Time Female Singing at the 2005 and 2006 Indiana State Picking and Fiddling contests. Jimmy and Lynna currently reside in Petersburg, IN.

Alex Benefield is the most recent addition to Fields of Home. Alex's approach to playing the fiddle and banjo is hard driving! Although he is the youngest member of Fields of Home, he has had numerous accomplishments on the fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin. He has been playing on stage since he was eleven years old. He has played with Jason Sturgeon, Backroads, Rocky Rhodes, and many more. Alex currently resides in Fransisco, IN.
